See, Amid the Winter’s Snow

“See, Amid the Winter’s Snow” is the popular title for the text, “Hymn for Christmas Day,” written in 1858 by Edward Caswell (1814-1878), with music by Sir John Goss (1800-1880).

This arrangement of Goss’s tune (known as “Humility”) offers young and developing bands the opportunity to develop legato style as they explore this humble yet lovely tune through contrasting key signatures (Eb, Ab, F major), attractive harmonies, various instrument textures, and dynamic contrasts.
