Lead Me, Lord

“Lead Me, Lord” is a popular short anthem excerpted from “Praise the Lord, O My Soul” (1861) by Samuel Sebastian Wesley (1810-1876), a choirmaster, organist and composer who was the grandson of Charles Wesley. Samuel Wesley composed nearly exclusively for the Church of England, and he is regarded as the most important Anglican composer between the time of Henry Purcell and Charles Villiers Stanford.

This arrangement for four trombones works successfully with a tuba substituting for the fourth trombone, if necessary, or for euphoniums and tuba.
